Greetings Students, Parents, and Families!
I am thrilled to be the new assistant principal at Mary Martin. I look forward to working with our amazing staff, meeting new students and families, and getting to be a part of the Martin family. I will be working closely with our Principal, Amy Crippen, to ensure that we continue the excellence established at Mary Martin. My goal is to maintain a positive school culture where teachers, parents, and students feel like a family. Please know that I am here to support the great things Martin is already doing and look forward to getting to know you and your child.
My educational background is a true indication of my belief of being a life-long learner. In 2000, I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I went back to my Alma Matter earning a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2016. This will be my 18th year in education serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. I began my teaching career as an 8th grade middle school science teacher in Fort Worth, Texas. The last 11 years I have been at Curtis Elementary in Weatherford teaching 5th grade science and most recently working as an instructional interventionist for all grade levels. In my desire to make an impact on the larger school community, I completed an internship program where I was given the opportunity to realize my calling as a campus administrator.
When I am not serving as an educator, I can be found with my husband of twenty years, Chad, and our two teenage children, Mason and Macey. Our son is a college freshman attending Texas Tech University and our daughter is a high school junior. We love to stay active as a family hiking and participating in a variety of sports. In my spare time, I enjoy running, reading, and relaxing.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in the role of assistant principal. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
