OVERVIEW
Mary Martin Elementary offers academic excellence for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Located on the far east side of Weatherford, Martin is home to approximately 550 students. Martin teachers, administrators and staff take pride in partnering with our families and community to create a world class campus that is focused on student engagement, creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Our students strive daily to achieve excellence by displaying “ROO PROUD” positive character. We are also honored to have a very active PTA that supports our campus and to offer multiple opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s education.
Mary Martin Elementary opened it's doors in 1996 and was named after a Weatherford icon, Mary Virginia Martin. A Weatherford High School graduation, Martin was a Broadway star most famous for her roles in Peter Pan, The Sound of Music, and South Pacific. Martin is the mother of Heller Halliday and Larry Hagman, known to many as J. R. Ewing from the hit TV show Dallas that ran from 1978-1991.
To honor her legacy and passion for theater arts, our students have the opportunity to perform a musical each spring through our Martin Musicals extracurricular theater group.
